CHOOSING THE DISPLAY HANGER BEST FOR YOU!

Selecting the right hanger is an important decision.  Specifically, the presentation, and usage to ensure a comfortable fit for your garment.

1. Use: What garments are you displaying and where are they being shown?

If you are placing your garment in a
showroom, showcase window, front facing of a store rack, or just want a thick hanger that fills out the garment, our #100, #107, #200, #300, or #350 would be a great choice! For wood, try our #69 or GSeries. For articles such as suits that have two pieces; a bottom and top, a wood or plastic hanger that has a lock bar, or skirt drop with clips will be the best alternative.

For inventory or if you need to consolidate space, try our 100S plastic hanger or any of our thin line wood hangers.

2. Size: What size should my hangers be?

Plastic Showroom and Display hangers generally range between 15 ½” and 17” Wide, and have a thickness between 1" and 4” Inches, are great for front facing, showroom windows, and display fixtures. We recommend the 100, 200, 300, and 350 series.  For inventory items, or if you have limited space, we recommend our ½” thick slightly contoured 100S.

Wood showroom and display hangers generally range between 15” - 18 ½” and have a thickness between ½” and 2”.  For displaying purposes, we recommend a thicker finished hanger.  For inventory, or consolidating space, any thin line ½” hanger will fit your needs.

Recommended Hanger Lengths

● Small Children and Infant garments fit best on 10”, and 12” hangers.

● Young boys and girl’s garments fit best on 12” and 14” hangers.

● Missy, Petite Women, medium and large youth’s garments fit best on a 15 ½” hanger.

● Men’s & Women’s styles fit best on a 17” hanger.

● Larger men’s garments fit best on 17 ½” – 19” hangers.

3. Why is Hanger Thickness Important?

Not only is thickness a consideration to the amount of space they will take up on a rack, the hanger should fill out the garment so that the garments hang as naturally as possible.  This is important for both visual presentation, and being careful not to stretch or damage material.  You don’t want a hanger so thick that it will stretch the shoulders, or too thin so the garment droops (which can also lead to stretching the neck of the material).

4. Do you prefer wood or plastic?

The reality is; it all comes down to the presentation, available space, amount of customization, and cost.

Wood Display hangers offer both a classic and contemporary look because of the many finishes, such as Walnut, Mahogany, or Natural wood, as well custom colors.  Wood hangers are slightly less cost effective, but are very durable, and strong.  Custom logos are available as well with most wood hanger types.

Plastic Hangers are lightweight, sturdy, cost effective, and offer a lot of customization in terms of hook styles, drops, sizes, and custom printed logos.  They can be available in unbreakable material in case durability is a concern as well.  We stock a variety of colors, and have capabilities in customizing in many colors.  Please contact us if the color you are looking for is not listed in the hanger description section.

5. Which hook do I need?

In most cases, hooks are plated in either a nickel or brass finish.  They can be short, standard, or long.  We also offer white and black hooks for the plastic showroom hangers.  Determining the right length has more to do with the garment size and location rather than the hanger itself.  If your garments are long and are close to the floor, you may want to use a short or standard hook.  If the garment is in a window front or is elevated, a 6” hook may be what you need.

- Other hardware, such as skirt drops with clips and trouser bars, have various options.  We offer  2", 10", 12", and 15" drops, and choosing the appropriate length is dependent on your needs, visibility of garment and space constraints.

6. How Do I get a custom logo printed?

Custom printing is a service we offer for nearly all our hangers.  To get your logo imprinted, you must first submit camera ready artwork and colors. We will do the rest! Lettering should be clear and large enough to be read clearly.  The maximum logo size is approximately 2 ¼ W x 1 ½” H.
